Photoshop can be overwhelming, even if you’ve used other image editors. Everything you want to do seems overwhelmingly complex. Over time, you’ll come to appreciate Photoshop’s power, but when you’re new, you just want get things done.

I went hunting for a simple tutorial on adding text to images. Should be easy to find, right? Not so. I found tutorials on adding flaming text, smoking text… almost nothing on adding simple text.

Finally I found one. The tutorial below will give you the general idea of how adding simple text works.
